74.2 Endoscopic extraction of a gallstone. Once sphincterotomy has been performed the bile duct is intubated with a Dormia-type basket, stones are captured in the basket, and removed through the spincterotomy. The size of the spincterotomy should match the size of the stones to be removed; larger stones must be fragmented before removal by lithotripsy.
